It's interesting how small things can be experienced in a profound and meaningful way, if they catch you at just the right moment. I was walking past some woodland earlier today and saw this little blackthorn about two feet tall that had put out such beautiful blossom and it just hit me with a sense of hope and wonder. I've recently had a depressive episode that I'm now coming out of and I've been feeling kind of fragile, and somehow this just lit everything up for a moment. Something about that little blackthorn tree seemed to whisper that things were going to be OK.

So that's my happy moment from today.
