questionoftheday asks: Do you often ask people for help, or do you prefer handling things on your own?

My answer: I am the worst at asking people for help, mostly because I don't notice that I need it until after things have got out of hand. After that point I don't ask for help mostly because others shouldn't have to cope with the problems I've created - there's a difference between 'could you help me stop this from getting everywhere?' and 'this has gone everywhere, could you help me clear it up?' The first I can basically manage if it occurs to me to ask, but the second I wouldn't feel comfortable asking. My boyfriend has become really good at noticing if I need help, so that usually he realises before I do! I'm trying to get better at noticing it myself too, but that's slow progress.
