My feelings about the JKR stuff, really.
Will it affect the way I engage with the books? Probably, at least a little. But I don't intend to let her drag me away from a fandom I've loved for 15 years. Absolutely not.

Date: 2020-01-01 07:51 pm (UTC)On reading book 5 of Strike, you could always wait and get hold of a second hand copy or borrow from a library. If you're anything like I was with the HP books though, I get that waiting won't be an appealing option.
When it comes to the film, I'd probably wait and watch it
illegallyonline, but again I get that that might not be an appealing option.I'm struggling at the moment because I had planned to buy the audiobook of CoS this year, and I'm not sure what I'm going to do about that. On the one hand the amount that we spend on a single thing she's been involved in is a drop in the ocean to her, but that doesn't change not wanting any of my money to go to a bigot.
So yes, I empathise.

Shame we can't get fans to read chapters of the books for free download, but I can see that not being appealing....
